With mobiles, tablets and laptops all being easily accessible from home, sometimes it can be hard to switch off from work. It’s all too easy to check that notification when it pops up on your phone but just because you can access your emails whilst you’re in the bath, doesn’t mean you have to.

Make a promise to yourself that you aren’t going to check your emails before a certain time each morning and after a certain time each night. Anything that comes through to you before 7am or after 7pm isn’t likely to be resolved out of office hours anyway, so don’t stress yourself out by engaging with it.

This is both a positive and negative trait of many entrepreneurs that often leads to too much time being spent in the office and not enough time spent with friends and family. Many successful business people pick up perfectionist habits at a young age and carry them into adulthood. Unfortunately, as you get older your responsibilities also tend to grow, making it impossible to ever reach true perfection.

If you want to ditch the work in favour of some quality time with loved ones, you have to stop looking for that perfect end product.
